PPR stands for Points Per Reception. Every time a player catches a pass in the NFL, they get +1 bonus point in your fantasy score. This makes receivers and pass-catching running backs way more valuable.
Every NFL team gets one week off per season — called their bye week. During that week, none of their players score any fantasy points. If you start a player on bye, you get zero. This is one of the most common beginner mistakes.
The FLEX spot is a wildcard roster slot. You can put any RB, WR, or TE in it — whoever you think will score the most that week. It gives you flexibility to play matchups.
FAAB stands for Free Agent Acquisition Budget. Instead of a priority order on waivers, everyone gets a $100 budget at the start of the season. You secretly bid on players — highest bid wins, and that money is gone for the season.
Streaming means picking up a player for one week based on a good matchup, starting them, then dropping them the following week to grab a new matchup play. You're not keeping them — just renting them for one game.
A handcuff is the backup running back on the same NFL team as your starting RB. If your RB1 gets injured, the handcuff becomes the starter and is suddenly worth a lot. Owning them "handcuffs" opponents from getting them.
ADP means Average Draft Position — the pick number where a player is typically selected across thousands of drafts. If a player's ADP is 24, most people draft them around pick 24.
